WORCESTER – The Winter Weather Emergency and Declared Winter Parking Ban for the City of Worcester will be lifted as of 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, 2026.
Residents who parked in municipal garages during the ban have until 12 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026, to exit without charge. Regular rates will apply for vehicles entering municipal garages after 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, 2026.
Residents are advised that snow removal operations will take place through 8 p.m. Friday and are asked to not impede these operations when parking.
A Permanent Winter Parking Ban remains in effect through April 30, 2026, on Emergency Arteries, Worcester Regional Transit Authority Bus Routes, and streets that are critical to the flow of traffic. There is no parking on one or both sides of these streets between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. and anytime a snow emergency is declared.
Residents and business owners are reminded to clear and treat sidewalks in front of their property within 10 hours after any winter storm in accordance with the municipality’s Sidewalk Snow Removal Ordinance.
Under this ordinance, owners and occupants of any residential or business property are required to clear and treat sidewalks adjacent to their property within 10 hours after snow ceases to fall. Snow and ice must be removed to a width of no less than 4 feet for the entire distance of said sidewalks. Crosswalk ramps that abut properties must be cleared as well. Residents who do not comply with this ordinance are subject to a $75 fine.
