Worcester E.M.S. mourns Paramedic Phil Krause

    WORCESTER — Worcester E.M.S. is mourning the loss of longtime paramedic Phil Krause, who passed away Friday after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 61.

    Krause, a 25-year veteran of the department, was described by colleagues as a passionate caregiver with a booming voice, a larger-than-life personality, and a deep commitment to his patients and family.

    “Phil was an excellent paramedic who always advocated for his patients,” said Chief Norm Soucie in a statement announcing his passing. “Above all else, Phil was a dedicated family man.”

    Krause died surrounded by his loved ones. He had remained on active duty through much of his illness, embodying the same resilience and compassion that marked his decades of service.

    Known by badge number 106, Krause leaves behind a legacy of excellence, mentorship, and unwavering dedication to the community.

    “Here’s to a life well lived,” the department’s tribute read. “Rest easy, sir.”
