Opening of Worcester's newest eatery temporarily delayed

    UPDATE: The grand opening scheduled for Wednesday was temporarily delayed because of permitting issues, according to Chef and co-owner Jean-Luc Wittner

    Suzette Crêperie & Café will open its doors at 11 a.m. Wednesday at 126 Water St., the former home of Weintraub's Deli.

    The cafe posted a Grand Opening Announcement video to Facebook on Saturday morning with a post that read, "It's Happening!"

    After opening day, the eatery will be open 5-8 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, although, according to the website, "these hours of operation will be quickly extended depending on the Covid-19 recovery conditions and our success."

    Its menu includes sweet and savory crepes, as well as vegetarian and vegan options. 

    Examples of savory crepes include a Parisian crepe ($12) with cheese, bacon, ham, mushrooms and tomato sauce, a steak and cheese crepe ($11.50) with shaved beef, cheese and Worcestershire sauce.

    Examples of sweet crepes include the Fat Elvis ($10) with banana, peanut butter, bacon and honey, and a Nutella crepe ($7).
