YouTube users post multiple videos promising free live streaming of high school basketball games, but the many are a suspected scam.
Fans of high school sports should be aware of a likely scam involving the live streaming of games on YouTube.
It works like this:
YouTube users post multiple videos promoting a live stream of a game (photo below).

The description includes a link to "Watch now." Clicking the link will take you to a site, in many cases nextsportslive.com.
The site then offers you to create a "free account" or "start for free." Clicking to create a free account takes a user to bestsports-stream.com.

Scamwatcher.com reports that bestsports-stream is a suspected scam. It reads, "They charge you a dollar for a trial membership then they try to charge you 59.99 the next day if you don't cancel the trial but they dont give you any option or way to cancel"
A good rule of thumb for sports fans is to check with your school's athletic department to see if your favorite team's game is going to be streamed.
