  •

WORCESTER — Applications are now available for three new condominiums being built on Piedmont Street in Worcester and offered to qualifying first-time homebuyers through a lottery.

Worcester Common Ground, the community development corporation serving the Piedmont neighborhood, is building the 3 condos at 116 Piedmont Street. The units have an estimated sale price of $250,000, with an additional $200 monthly homeowners association fee.

The first-floor unit will be fully accessible and include 2 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. The second- and third-floor units will each have 3 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. Each condo will have a private entrance and 2 parking spaces.

The building is designed to be high-efficiency and low-maintenance. A 99-year ground lease will also be attached to the property. Construction is expected to be completed this fall.

Applicants must have household income at or below 80% of the area median income. For example, the income limit for a 4-person household is $105,350. Applicants must also have a first-time homebuyer certificate.

All completed applications will be entered into a lottery. Applications will be distributed through November 5th.

Those interested in receiving an application can contact Resident Services Coordinator Jeshenia Luyando at 774-232-1186 or jluyando@wcg-cdc.com, or visit Worcester Common Ground's office at 5 Piedmont St. The organization also offers assistance connecting applicants with mortgage financing options.
